Company History

Aqua Bathrooms were established in 1999 by Liz Foster, Simon Heaver and Dave Stokes.

Simon and Dave are time-served tradesmen who grew tired of working for other people and decided to branch out on their own. Initially working from one van, they gradually built themselves a solid base of satisfied customers throughout Hayling Island, supported by Liz who provided back office support and managed the company’s accounts.

Buoyed by their success and encouraged by their customers, in 2003 Aqua opened a bathroom showroom on Hayling Island and expanded to employ two additional fitting teams.

Success built upon success, and by 2005 Aqua was employing four fitting teams and Simon and Dave were primarily surveying and project managing the works. Word of the excellent service which Aqua offered to its customers was beginning to spread far and wide.

By 2006, Aqua’s expanding programme of work necessitated the employment of an administrator and the promotion of one of their fitters to a managerial role. Many previous customers returned for additional projects to be carried out in their homes, and pleased with the service they had received, continued to recommend Aqua to their friends and family.

In April 2008, Aqua gained recognition for their excellent working practices and were awarded Investor In People status.

Despite the recession, 2009 has been a good year for Aqua, as consumers choose to spend on improving their existing property rather than moving. This year Aqua has consolidated the gains it has made over previous years and strengthened its relationship with suppliers and customers.

Looking ahead to 2010, Aqua plan to continue their expansion and grow to six fitting teams to meet the growing demand for quality bespoke bathrooms.
